Valentines Week

To all my Valentines:

Thank you for all the love and connection you have gifted me through this journey. The videos of dogs living their best lives on ski trails. Pots full of soup, a new crockpot coupled with loads of meals. New babies that came early so they didn’t have to miss the holiday of Love. Reiki to heal my heart. New date sessions with my godmother and godsister. And two healthy boys that stretch my love to no end. Lastly, most importantly, my love, my soulmate, and the one I choose, thank you for being with and growing with me the past 15 years.

Last week felt more predictable and I was able to stay well on top of my food intake even during the chemo days. I was up moving around days 1-3, and then fatigue whalluped me on day 4 & 5. There were ample cat naps and rocking chair rest. The boys are practicing patience, which has been much appreciated as I navigate the stop and go on the heavier days. I am working a movement and meditation routine back into my days; my mind and body have been craving to return to regular practice. We are finally able to return to some semblance of normality with finding more diversity in our diet; more fruits and vegetables have wiggled their way back to our plates. I will just say navigating diet with an ostomy and a nutritious variety of foods is a daily endeavor of balance (I will spare you the details).

Mandy pulled through big time with sun coverage clothing items. I have already utilized some “buffs” for sun protection and it made the outing much easier. I can never tell if Mandy comes to visit me, or uses me as an excuse to love on the boys; I’ll take either. The cold has kept us inside a bit, and cloudy skies made for a license to stay inside. Thankful for our nice warm home.
Mantras: Trust the Universe. Go straight for the liver. Be home.
