Spring

Spring is definitely here. The honey bees have awakened, the robins are here, and trees are blossoming.

This recovery week took longer to offer relief of symptoms; neuropathy and cold-sensitivity were in full force for 9 days. This involves avoiding cold drinks, room temp drinks, no cool or cold fruits, avoid smoothies, and bundling on more clothes than feels necessary. It was also accompanied by foot, hand and finger cramps. This newer chemotherapy is not my favorite, and I am not sorry that I have only 2 more rounds. The finagle of insurance continues, but so far my medical needs have been met though required much coordination (and 20 years of experience working in healthcare to understand the tedious nuances).

We have started my favorite part of homeschooling; evaluation period. It always reveals what was learned, our efforts in a measurable manner. I am always amazed by what has been retained and how much fun it can be to master skills. Second grade, here we come!
Thankful for the distraction of reading… the worst/best series by Sarah Maas… if you know, you know. Glimmers are present each day with friends stepping in to come and support us during surgery, and the meal train revived for support during our marathon of our journey. A return to community through yoga practices and regular meditation are so needed. The warm weather has rejuvenated neighbors and allows for play until the street lights come on.
Mantras:
Trust in the Universe. Go straight for the liver. Forward motion.
