Round 5

Laura VanBrocklin | MAR 3, 2025

Today will be round five of chemo. I am ready.

My imaging took a few days to come back, which meant managing nerves and taking some time to be present and distracted with my hands on tasks. The imaging finally came back and chemo has slowed activity of current tumors and there are no new growths. This is a massive win and course of action will involve moving for with current plan and maybe additional therapies to ramp up the decimation of this beast inside me.

This week has been filled with enjoying the world around us. We kicked off our last week with a Sound Bath. If you have never experienced this, I highly recommend checking it out. A dear friend gifted the experience and it offered some couple time and decompression. The sound bath utilized crystal sound bowls, Tibetan sound bowls, rain stick, wave drum, triangle chime, guided yoga Nidra meditation, tea, and chocolate. Following, I have been more committed to my own meditation practice, creating space for the practice daily. We have gotten in more walks and I am getting used to full coverage sun practice as well.

As I walk in to today’s chemo, I can’t tell how helpful the support from others has been. The chemo is working, the good thoughts, the prayers, the meditation, the yoga; it’s working. I am now able to dig in with my hope. Thank you. May you all take a moment to breath today.
